John Bartle CBE(b. 1944)

    One of the founders of Bartle Bogle Hegarty, the agency behind  Audi’s Vorsprung Durch Technik and Nick Kamen stripping off his Levi 501’s in a laundrette. The son of a bus inspector from Leeds, he learnt his trade at Cadbury Foods, where his passion for advertising was ignited whilst working on Smash with BMP DDB’s planning guru Stanley Pollitt. Moving on to join the newly formed London office of TBWA, he became planning director, where he met Messrs. Bogle and Hegarty. The trio would go onto set up their own agency in 1982, BBH, one of the world’s most creatively-awarded and well known agencies.
