Lord (David) Puttnam of Queengate CBE(b.1941)

    David Puttnam was also part of the CDP talent pool for the first five formative years of his career alongside other future Hollywood greats, Hugh Hudson and Alan Parker. He was one of their first hires. He went on to be the agent for photographers David Bailey and Brian Duffy. Turning to film production in the late 1960s he continued to work with Parker on Bugsy Malone and Midnight Express. And in his thirty years as an independent producer he has produced a number of award-winning films including Chariots of Fire, The Killing Fields, Local Hero and Memphis Belle. He currently sits in the House of Lords and is a passionate speaker on creative communications, the environment and education. He has said: “I am not afraid to fail, providing I fail honourably.”
