Frank is famous in the industry for his uncompromising high creative standards and as a hugely influential advertising man. A perfectionist and dealmaker, he has always believed that a brand has to have a powerful creative idea at its core and so his reputation is inextricably linked with memorable work for Stella Artois (“reassuringly expensive”), Reebok, General Motors and Tesco (“every little helps”). He is also said to have composed Heinken’s famous slogan “refreshes the part other beers cannot reach”. Starting in the mailroom of JWT he is credited with building the reputation of CDP in the 1970s before moving on to do the same with his own agency Lowe Howard Spink in 1981. Lowe was later purchased by Interpublic where he stayed on as chairman to build the Lowe Group of companies (now MullenLowe). He later returned to London setting up Red Brick Road.
